[12:04:43] <CIA-5> EMC: 03jthornton 07master * r337a4996d6d6 10/docs/src/config/ini_config.lyx: add debug, help file, bias, deadband
[12:24:19] <alex_joni> jthornton: mind a doc improvement suggestion?
[12:24:37] <alex_joni> M62-65,66,67 & 68 are missing from the quickref
[12:24:54] <jthornton> ok, the html one?
[12:30:53] <alex_joni> right
[12:32:40] <jthornton> thanks I forgot that :)
[12:49:04] <jthornton> LOL it only took 2 tries to get the labels right
[12:50:36] <CIA-5> EMC: 03jthornton 07master * rb2b7d9e2ed6e 10/docs/ (html/gcode.html src/gcode/main.lyx): add M62-68
[13:00:15] <alex_joni> heh
[13:00:22] <alex_joni> jthornton: thanks
[13:00:26] <jthornton> np
[13:42:03] <jepler> jthornton: AXIS doesn't respect CYCLE_TIME or HELP_FILE. You may want to note that DEADBAND and BIAS are (HAL).
[13:42:47] <jthornton> ok, thanks
[13:43:50] <jepler> Put the key and example value on the same line by entering shift-space instead of space around the = and for any internal spaces in the value and before (HAL) where it appears. That shows a kind of bottom bracket onscreen. It also saves you from having to remember to bold the sample value.
[13:44:22] <jepler> HALFILE = example.hal is an example of one that is correct in the current manual, and COORDINATES = X Y Z is an example of one that is not right
[13:44:32] <jepler> at least, I think that's the cause; I didn't actually open up the lyx file
[13:45:40] <jepler> hm, that's not the problem at all. it must be a problem in lyx2html :(
[13:45:55] <jepler> forget that last bit then
[14:54:56] <jepler> morning skunkworks_
[14:55:18] <skunkworks_> Good morning jepler
[14:56:28] <skunkworks_> Need a 1-7/16 1/2 drive socket or crows foot. ;)
[14:57:07] <skunkworks_> looks like I cannot find one locally. ebay seems to have them.
[15:03:13] <skunkworks_> you guys might get a kick out of this..
[15:03:14] <skunkworks_> http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mach1mach2cnc/message/116960
[15:08:10] <jepler> I'm so happy to use rtai where that truly low-level stuff is somebody else's problem
[15:10:28] <skunkworks_> heh - I bet
[15:12:32] <SWPadnos> once it works, DON'T TOUCH IT!
[15:12:39] <SWPadnos> EVER!
[15:17:05] <jepler> argh, I need to remember not to reply to Evgeny. His ISP bounces my mail every time.
[16:53:19] <jepler> jthornton: dgarr says I'm wrong about AXIS not respecting CYCLE_TIME
[16:58:47] <dgarr> CYCLE_TIME sha1==e2ec7532

[19:53:54] <alex_joni> wheee
[19:57:21] <jepler> it's less work than it looks like from the number of commits
[19:57:40] <jepler> the parport-related commits had been knocking around one of my trees for weeks, too
[20:01:48] <alex_joni> jepler: seems the system I wrote you about is a 8.04.3 install
[20:03:57] <alex_joni> apparently this is the dmesg:
http://pastebin.ca/1748693
[20:14:15] <jepler> #
[20:14:16] <jepler> [ 0.000000] Kernel command line: root=UUID=07d3b0d5-4dc3-482c-8fde-dc3823bef4e1 ro quiet splash find_preseed=/preseed.cfg automatic-ubiquity noprompt
[20:14:21] <jepler> that's the dmesg from a boot cd
[20:14:37] <jepler> not that I expect anything useful in there -- it's a matter of a broken userspace library as far as I can tell
[20:15:40] <jepler> J"virtual dvd-rom" "fwr10003"
[20:15:43] <jepler> oops
[20:19:25] <jepler> OK, so this guy is using parallels and parallels does (at least optionally) replace libGL
[20:20:19] <jepler> unless it turns out that the problem exists without proprietary software I don't plan to look into this any further
[20:21:13] <SWPadnos> ... proprietary software running emc in a VM ...
[20:22:30] <jepler> proprietary software that only runs on a proprietary os on proprietary hardware I don't own
[20:22:40] <SWPadnos> yeah - all that
[20:23:10] <jepler> if he forces parallels to uninstall its libgl replacement it'll most likely work; axis works OK with software opengl anyway
[20:25:30] <jepler> (I wouldn't turn down a configure-time detect-and-workaround patch merely out of spite, though)
[20:49:20] <dgarr> jepler: minor patch for consideration:
http://www.panix.com/~dgarrett/stuff/0001-remove-highlighted-line-from-last-program-when-new-p.patch
[20:50:15] <jepler> dgarr: does that deselect when reloading? I have liked that it doesn't deselect when reloading..
[20:50:55] <dgarr> yes - deselects when reloading a new file, reloading the same file it doesnot deselect
[20:51:31] <jepler> how does that not deselect when reloading? doesn't reload go through open_file_guts?
[20:53:17] <jepler> oh, reload restores it
[20:53:56] <dgarr> i'm not sure, that's what it did when i tested it
[20:55:50] <CIA-5> EMC: 03jepler 07master * rb2176130128b 10/src/emc/usr_intf/axis/scripts/axis.py: remove highlighted line from last program when new program loaded
[20:57:37] <CIA-5> EMC: 03jepler 07master * r6b0867f48df7 10/src/emc/usr_intf/axis/scripts/axis-remote.py: ping should not display a message just because axis is not running
[21:02:20] <dgarr> jepler: thanks!
