[20:23:32] <jthornton> cradek: looks like probe_parport is still in the hm2-servo, hm2-stepper and tormach/pcnc what ever that is
[21:32:37] <cradek> jthornton: maybe I'm wrong
[21:32:43] <cradek> let's wait and see what jepler says
[21:34:41] <jthornton> ok
[21:37:56] <cradek> I guess I have a probe_parport in my lathe's rt build
[21:38:07] <cradek> so it's still built - not sure if it's still needed
[21:42:45] <jepler> I think I missed something
[21:42:51] <jthornton> cradek: did you use the fine and coarse home proxes?
[21:44:16] <jepler> for 2.4 I think that for most users it will be better to renable parport_pc (the linux parport driver) and remove probe_parport if it is currently used
[21:44:57] <jepler> but I'd hate to preclude some of our users from keeping their current setup by removing it
[21:49:53] <jepler> a glance it looks like probe_parport will be harmless when parport_pc is loaded but I don't think I actually tested that combination
[22:12:18] <cradek> jthornton: yes I used coarse as the home switch, and fine for index mask
[22:12:36] <cradek> if you have just one index per leadscrew rev, I doubt you need the fine home switch
[22:12:54] <cradek> but if you have 10 indexes per leadscrew rev like I do, you definitely need it
[22:16:12] <jthornton> ok, I forgot you told me that
[22:16:27] <jthornton> I better write it down this time :)
