[06:32:29] <psha> <div>
[06:32:50] <psha> whoohaa :)
[06:33:11] <psha> archivist: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://psha.org.ru/irc/%2523emc-devel/2011-01-02.html
[06:33:24] <psha> This document was successfully checked as XHTML 1.0 Strict!

[07:02:09] -!- mhaberler [[email protected]] has joined #emc-devel
[07:02:38] <psha> mhaberler: provider hates you this year too :)
[07:02:48] <mhaberler> hi! why?
[07:03:08] <mhaberler> too much connect/disconnect?
[07:07:08] <psha> with ping timeouts :)
[07:07:39] <mhaberler> hm, switching between laptop and pc?
[07:09:12] <psha> hm, correct
[07:09:16] <psha> different hosts
[07:14:11] -!- emcrules_laptop has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
[07:17:05] <mhaberler> that logger is great!
[07:20:47] <psha> yea, i like it's formatting :) it's relatively small and configurable :)
[07:38:04] -!- skunkworks has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
[07:48:41] <mhaberler> there's one thing I dont understand about the reschedule when interp retuns INTERP_EXECUTE_FINISH
[07:48:43] <mhaberler> assume that happens in the t sub, at the M66
[07:48:44] <mhaberler> I restart the sub, bang - M66 again - same thing?
[07:48:46] <mhaberler> or means reschedule "after the g code which caused the INTERP_EXECUTE_FINISH"?
[07:48:54] <psha> no
[07:48:57] <psha> yes
[07:49:11] <mhaberler> ah.
[07:49:16] <psha> it instructs interp to continue from the point it stops
[07:49:59] <mhaberler> so that rschedule is just there to synch the interpeter after every INTERP_EXECUTE_FINISH?
[07:50:23] <mhaberler> and kick it again
[07:57:59] <psha> yes
[07:58:17] <psha> i've just copied code from readahead_* functions
[07:58:31] <psha> so you may just issue MDI command from inside
[07:58:42] <psha> without bothering with states etc
[07:59:38] <mhaberler> whoa.. if that worked, that would be a great step forward
[08:00:32] <mhaberler> if ignore the INTERP_EXECUTE_FINISH, it actually gets rscheduled.. but I guess that's not the way to do it
[08:03:50] <psha> yes
[08:04:10] <psha> what you need is to add MDI command into internal queue and bypass AUTO check
[08:04:23] <mhaberler> aja
[08:43:11] <mhaberler> does that mean you're cooking somthing to spoonfeed me ?-)
[08:49:59] <psha> heh, what i'm doing _now_ going with kid to the park ;)

[12:33:03] <archivist> JT-D510, from last night G76 http://www.archivist.info/blog/?p=31
[12:36:05] <psha> archivist: it's possible to link to given message in irc logs
[12:36:16] <psha> http://psha.org.ru/irc/%23emc-devel/2011-01-01.html#22:25:59
[12:36:18] <psha> for example
[12:36:19] -!- mhaberler [[email protected]] has joined #emc-devel
[12:37:04] <archivist> I realise(I looked at your page source the other night), was just a bit lazy
[12:39:14] <archivist> updated :)
[12:40:03] <psha> pretty useful :)
[12:40:55] <archivist> its something I was thinking of adding to mine
[12:41:28] <psha> one thing that is really dumb in this logger is log appending
[12:41:48] <psha> http://psha.org.ru/cgit/psha/logbot/tree/logbot.py#n130
[12:42:00] <psha> he's rewriting whole file...
[12:42:20] <archivist> heh!
[12:43:02] -!- qq- [[email protected]] has joined #emc-devel
[12:43:02] -!- qq- has quit [Changing host]
[12:43:02] -!- qq- [qq-!~Moldovean@unaffiliated/qq-] has joined #emc-devel
[12:43:06] <archivist> a lot of the bots seem tied to text files, thats the first thing I removed from the base bot Im using
[12:46:07] <psha> using text file for text information is not bad
[12:46:19] <psha> what's bad - is _rewriting_ whole file instead of appending
[12:47:51] <archivist> yes but my !seen nick is from the same log table
[12:48:21] <psha> yea, if you want some extra goodies on top of logs - it's fine
[12:48:35] <psha> but for logging purposes text files are far better
[12:49:16] <archivist> you cant do clean html with append
[12:51:42] <psha> that's true too
[12:51:52] <psha> but you may just seek to desired position instead
[12:52:14] <archivist> variable length lines, seek where :)
[12:52:25] <archivist> may as well use a database
[12:56:39] -!- mhaberler has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds]
[12:57:04] <psha> seek end of file minus length of footer
[12:57:12] <psha> or just use SSI for composing html
[12:58:58] <JT-D510> archivist: to me if you could specify the TPI and know that the resulting taper would be 1 in 16 for pipe threads and fittings all strange threads could use G33
[13:00:48] <archivist> I can see other areas using tapers Im not aware of, so the default taper should be 1 in 16 I agree
[13:01:26] <archivist> bound to be some awkward user out there!
[13:01:51] <JT-D510> the G76 I would still be inside or outside depending on the sign
[13:02:12] <archivist> I agree
[13:02:14] <JT-D510> then he can eat cake! :)

[13:03:04] <archivist> I been a good boy and created a repo here just :)
[13:03:22] <JT-D510> repo?
[13:03:35] <archivist> git and all that jaz
[13:03:44] <JT-D510> ah
[13:04:23] <archivist> just have read and learn some
[13:04:38] <archivist> have to
[13:05:02] <JT-D510> I think I can create one in my sleep I've done so many lately

[15:34:04] <andypugh> it seems to me that the edge and oneshot comps might be more useful if they could be used "tristate"

[15:34:31] -!- skunkworks_ [skunkworks_!~chatzilla@str-bb-cable-south2-static-6-412.dsl.airstreamcomm.net] has joined #emc-devel
[15:34:32] skunkworks_ is now known as skunkworks
[15:34:40] <andypugh> I am thinking especially in cases where they might be used to drive the index-enable pin of an encoder.
[15:35:43] <andypugh> Currently they drive the input high or low every cycle, whereas they could do nothing, ie leave the signal as it is (or as the encoder chooses to drive it).

[18:28:41] <Roguish> good morning all. little help please. what is the following error????
[18:28:43] <Roguish> insmod: error inserting '/home/noel/emc2-dev/rtlib/hm2_pci.ko': -1 Unknown symbol in module
[18:28:44] <Roguish> 7i39_servo.hal:16: exit value: 1

[18:29:10] -!- mikeggg has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds]
[18:32:40] <andypugh> It means that one of the parameters in the loadrt line at line 16 of your HAL file is not correct.
[18:33:04] <andypugh> Can you show us line 16 of 7i39_servo.hal?
[18:33:47] <Roguish> loadrt hm2_pci config="firmware=hm2/5i20/svtp6_7i39.bit num_3pwmgens=3"
[18:34:18] <Roguish> thanks for the help. i was hoping you were online, andypugh.
[18:34:34] <Roguish> what's the status of the 7i39 work?
[18:36:06] <skunkworks> that config line doesn't seem right
[18:36:11] <skunkworks> num_3?
[18:37:04] <andypugh> num3pwmgens is right, but not with all versions of emc2
[18:37:17] <andypugh> Which EMC2 version?
[18:37:20] <Roguish> i did not think so either, but i got it from a pastbin post of a 7i39 config
[18:37:29] <Roguish> the latest git pull
[18:37:55] <andypugh> Odd
[18:38:11] <Roguish> me or the error?
[18:38:19] <andypugh> The error.
[18:39:17] <Roguish> wanna see the config?
[18:39:20] <skunkworks> my config looks like num_encoders=4 num_pwmgens=4 num_stepgens=0
[18:39:28] <andypugh> Try it without the num_3pwmgens bit, and see what you get. (dmesg will list all the pins). It should default to a full set of everything, includeing 3-phase pwms.
[18:39:30] <skunkworks> for my 5120
[18:40:15] <Roguish> you mean just drop that parameter? or the whole line?
[18:40:36] <andypugh> drop that parameter.
[18:42:27] <Roguish> same error.
[18:44:32] <andypugh> Does that firmware definitely exist in /lib/firmware ?
[18:46:46] <Roguish> my config; pastebin - 7i39.ini - post number 2037022 and pastebin - 7i39_servo.hal - post number 2037025
[18:47:13] <Roguish> pretty sure, i'll check.
[18:49:00] <Roguish> yes, both .bit and .xml files exist in /lib/firmware/hm2/5i20
[19:03:23] <Roguish> andypugh: could you share a working 7i39 configuration ?
[19:03:51] <andypugh> I am not sure I still have one.
