I've edited the .hal file so that I can run the motor, which is controlled via step/dir, using the normal spindle commands however I can't work out how to use it with threading. It appears that I need to put the encoder settings in the .hal file, however clearly I don't have an encoder. Perhaps the step input could be divided by the number of steps per r

[22:30:09] <L33TG33KG34R> yes, typically what happens is that the epoxy melts when the bit is cutting leaving a frayed edge. a waterjet is the best way to cut carbon fibre or to use flood cooling for the carbon fibre to keep it relatively cold
